Why is demand for community managers so stagnant?

a) Because there a paucity of skilled Community Managers the market has become a passive job market. Instead of advertising to active job-seekers, recruiters and head-hunters are directly approaching Community Managers in their roles and persuading them to apply for open positions.

b) Because the job title has changed. This may be due companies wanting to attract more senior candidates, or because there is more competition in the market - so the titles are often Head of Digital, Community Director etc.
